Research Interests

I am a plasma physicist whose research is focused on understanding and controlling the transient off-normal events that can prevent the efficient and reliable operation of the magnetic fusion reactor configuration known as the tokamak. Specifically, I study: Non-axisymmetric (3D) field interactions, core and edge magnetohydrodynamic instabilities, and relativistic electrons in tokamak plasmas.
